Fuel Up to Play 60
Fuel Up to Play 60 is an in-school nutrition and physical activity program launched by the National Dairy Council and the NFL in collaboration with the USDA. This program encourages youth to eat healthy and be active for at least 60 minutes per day. Student Ambassadors will meet weekly on Wednesday mornings before school. Hudson Academy has received grants that have paid for new playground equipment, a field trip to a local dairy farm, smoothies using ingredients from dairy farms, flag-football equipment, in-class movement equipment and incentives for healthy eating. Adrianna Todd and Dairine Estrella were accepted to attend the National Youth Summit the summer of 2016. Daveon Patton, Gage Parker and Owen Reininger were accepted to attend the Summit in 2017 and Daveon was selected as the Colorado State Ambassador. We have been a touchdown school both of our years (2016 and 2017), meaning we meet all our goals of the program. The Hudson Ambassadors will attend the touchdown celebration at Mile High Stadium in Denver in the fall. Parents can sign their students up using the above link (our team is: ‘Healthy Hudson Huskies’) or to get more information.
